Yahboy!
"Yahboy!", released in December of 2005, was recorded shortly after Gary GIbson's "pan pilgrimage" to Trinidad, West Indies in 2004. The album is reflective of his experience there, while still focusing on original jazz-based compositions.
For this project, he assembled a band of some of the best musicians around. The players are Richard Warner (flute/soprano sax), Steve Rice (keyboards), Dean Schmidt (electric basses), and Mark Ivester (drums). Other guest musicians appearing on the CD include Rich Cole (tenor sax), Bill Anschell (piano), Chuck Deardorf (acoustic bass), Michael Bento (double seconds steel pans), Dawn Clement (piano), and Jeff Busch (Brazilian percussion).

"Bless Gary Gibson...for taking a spirited, colorful approach to the jazz genre in "Yahboy!" Having been to the Caribbean numerous times, I am familiar with the indigenous sounds that Gibson has absorbed. His utilization of steel pans gives him his own individual take on it. You can feel the enthusiasm blowing from the speakers..." – Elizabeth Jacobsen, entertainment.inuk.com
"Gibson's soloing is melodic and self-assured, and his compositions are sophisticated and totally enjoyable. The rhythm section (which features the fluid, creative drumming of Mark Ivester) really cooks throughout the recording." – Terry O'Mahoney, Perccusive Notes Magazine
"...a most welcome addition to the pan CD family. The CD is a blast! It knocks your socks off. The engineering, pan playing, and musicianship are delightful. I like the chemistry of the musicians, they all seem to be enjoying each others' company. There's never a dull moment. If it isn't Gary blowing you away with his dexterity and blending of notes, there's Richard Warner on flute, or Steve Rice on keyboards, or Dean Schmidt on bass, or Mark Ivester on drums, filling in the spaces..." – Mr. Muzik, Trinidad Guardian
"In all of my years as a music critic, I don't think I ever heard a jazz album that I could actually dance to. This is a seriously melodic record... The songs on this album are so catchy..." - Kyrby Raine, ink19.com
"I have been a big fan of Gary's music from the first note. His ability to weave very hip improvised lines through his equally hip compositions, all the while maintaining a beautiful tone and even touch on the pan, is truly remarkable. Gary has a unique and fresh voice for today's pan scene and his music will be revered for years to come." – Tom Miller
CounterMelodies
Released in 2002, Gary Gibson's second album, titled "CounterMelodies," like "My Two Cents," is also largely self-recorded (multitracked), but with the addition of several more special guests, including saxophonist Richard Cole, clarinetist Hans Teuber, flutist Richard Warner, Brazilian guitarist Marco de Cavalho, bassists Doug Miller and David Pascal, and percussionist Jeff Busch.

"...Gibson expands on the strengths of the first album, while at the same time breaking new ground. As a composer he is able to take on the traditions of Caribbean music and inject a sense of harmony that makes it all his own. There are plenty of memorable melodies and infectious rhythms to appeal to a broad range of listeners. Easy on the ears, while at the same time filled with challenge, Countermelodies is a fine effort from an artist who deserves a broader audience." – Dave Binder, ejazznews.com
"...strong in melody and rhythm, with an effervescent, feel-good vibe that will please a cross-section of music fans. Gibson delivers a great listening experience on this CD. His devotion to this unique sound shows plainly in its quality." – Wendy Ross, Jazzreview.com

"There is just something immensely likeable about MY TWO CENTS. It has a certain flair that sets it apart from other CDs of this type, and the blending of contemporary jazz approaches is most appealing. Jazz listeners will find this an unusual and enjoyable collection of jazz instrumental music. There is a joy about this CD collection that is catching! Gary Gibson is a master of the steel drums & vibraphone and puts them to excellent use in MY TWO CENTS." – Lee Prosser, JazzReview.com
"...This whole CD has a really nice feel to it, and is well worth checking out." – Jim Wilke, host of Public Radio International's "Jazz After Hours" and "Jazz Northwest"
Breather
"Breather," released in September of 2009, is actually a collection of single releases which were originally intended mainly for music licensing. This is available only as MP3 download (sorry, no phyisical CD of this one) from sites like iTunes and Amazon Music.
For this collection, he has gone back to recording most of the parts himself, with a little help from flutist Richard Warner on a couple of songs. The content is, on average, lighter and has a bit more commercial appeal his previous material.
